Java Architect/ Senior Java Developer
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite, T-Th); Omaha, Nebraska
Terms: 6-month contract; possible extensions
Capstone IT is helping our client to a Java Architect or Senior Java Developer in Omaha, Nebraska. This role hybrid will be a 6-month contract initially with possible extensions.
This project will consist of the upgrading, moving, or decommissioning of old programs to modern architecture and frameworks or planned obsolescence.
The ideal candidate will have done similar projects in the past and have experience with upgrading the following:
- IBM, Java 7 to Eclipse Temurin, Java 11
- IBM RAD and Eclipse Neon to Eclipse 2020-03
- EAR/WAR + App Server to JAR + Spring Boot
- Single security context to Per-app security context
- Spring Core 3.23 and 4.x to Spring Core 5.3.x
- Old Hibernate to Hibernate 6.1
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Prior experience upgrading and moving old applications
