Software QA Engineer – Test Automation J-4182
Location: Remote; Pacific Time Zone
Terms: 6 month contract with possible extensions

We are actively seeking a skilled Software QA Engineer to join our esteemed team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of software to support pre-transplant products.
- Develop testing plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Plan test schedules and strategies in alignment with project scope and delivery dates.
- Review testing and functional documentation for technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and risk mitigation.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design and development of an automation framework using Java, TestNG, Maven, and Cucumber.
- Manage the entire development process, including meetings, code reviews, documentation, requirement management, task tracking, and failures triage.
- Implement and oversee standalone automated Python scripts for data analysis and correlation studies (using Pandas library).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects, serving as a bridge between the lab and development teams.
- Lead validation efforts for new project releases, estimating efforts, assessing risks, and conducting intensive testing.
- Participate in various testing types, including functional, regression, end-to-end (e2e), integration, and post-production, following industry best practices.
- Validate back-end REST APIs using Postman.
- Test Sequencing Database Unification (SDU) algorithms, involving complex logarithmic calculations and rules.
- Test Laboratory Management Software (STARLIMS) for various workflows, including 3rd party components integration.
- Create and maintain guidelines and manuals to expedite onboarding and retain existing knowledge.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields.
- 4+ years of Software QA experience (Biotechnology/molecular diagnostic field is a plus).
- 2+ years of experience testing web applications (Healthcare provider outreach is a plus).
- Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and release management processes.
- Experience with StarLIMS or similar library information management system.
- Experience supporting multi-site software development.
