Rates: $170k-$200k; Based on experience

Capstone IT is seeking a Vice President of Data Services to lead our client’s Corporate Data Governance department. This pivotal role focuses on advancing data governance, retention, analytics, and database management, to standardize and enforce data policies across the organization. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of a future state data governance architecture and develop new strategies for data quality, metadata, and information governance. This position is critical for driving data quality, metadata management, and overall information governance, ensuring a transformative impact on business processes and customer experiences.

Job Requirements:

Implement Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, and Data Cataloging programs in collaboration with data governance stewards, owners, stakeholders, and consumers, including the data governance committee and board.
Develop and govern Data Management Solutions to support Business Compliance initiatives.
Assist in data analysis, business processes, and help define product vision and roadmap for Data Management platforms.
Monitor compliance with Data Security and Privacy standards in collaboration with Privacy and Information Security teams.
Design and implement a Data Usage Auditing service to monitor compliance and performance of key data governance metrics.
Drive adoption of the Data Governance Office and secure enterprise buy-in.
Establish and lead a team of analysts to support the growth of the data office.
Manage budget, timeline, resources, and scope for data governance and MDM initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to set priorities, translate strategic goals into tactical action plans, and influence overall business strategy through effective data management.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology).
10+ years of experience in IT, data management, data integration, or data infrastructure.
15+ years of management experience.
5+ years of experience in Data Governance with a focus on Master Data Management, Metadata Management, and Data Catalog implementations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with business stakeholders.
In-depth understanding of modern data platforms and enterprise data and analytics platforms including Business Intelligence systems.
Proven ability in product management, with strong analytical and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage complex projects.

Preferred:

Data as a Service (DaaS) implementation experience.
Experience with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
