    Capstone IT is helping our client find a Head of Technology & Data Governance who will lead the design and adoption of an enterprise-wide governance program across a federated organization. This is a strategic, influence-first role focused on building relationships, gaining buy-in from business and technology leaders, and driving voluntary adoption of governance practices. Day to day, this person will engage executives, align stakeholders, define governance frameworks, and translate data and technology governance into business value—not enforce compliance or write code.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and socialize a company-wide governance program across business and technology teams
    • Influence adoption through relationship-building, alignment, and business value messaging
    • Define governance frameworks including policies, RASCI models, and stewardship structures
    • Lead data classification, minimization, retention, and access governance strategies
    • Develop and manage enterprise data/technology inventory, lineage, and risk visibility
    • Conduct data risk assessments to prioritize security and investment decisions
    • Partner with CISO, CDTO, and executives to align governance with risk appetite and business goals
    • Lead GRC tooling selection and implementation (e.g., Vanta, MetricStream)
    • Act as liaison for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting
    • Build governance metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting
    • Drive cross-functional alignment across security, privacy, legal, and business units

     

    Qualifications:

    • 8+ years in information security, data governance, or related field
    • Proven experience leading governance programs in federated organizations
    • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive voluntary adoption
    • Strong executive communication skills; able to translate risk into business terms
    • Experience with data governance concepts (cataloging, lineage, MDM, DQ, DSPM/DLP)
    • Experience with GRC platforms and governance tooling integrations
    • Background in risk assessments and cross-functional collaboration
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Certifications (nice to have): CISSP, CISA, CRISC, Security+

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join our team onsite in Kansas City. This is a 6-month contract engagement with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.

    The ServiceNow Developer will design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise solutions across IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), CMDB, and Common Service Data Model (CSDM). This role is hands-on and will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.


    Key Responsibilities

    ServiceNow Development & Configuration

    • Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, and enterprise workflows.

    • Develop integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.

    • Write and maintain scripts using JavaScript and Glide API.

    • Build and optimize workflows using Flow Designer and Orchestration.

    CMDB & CSDM Management

    • Implement and maintain a healthy, accurate CMDB aligned with CSDM principles.

    • Design and manage Configuration Item (CI) relationships to support business services and IT operations.

    • Ensure data integrity and governance best practices are followed.

    Automation & Optimization

    • Develop automation solutions to streamline IT and business processes.

    • Optimize platform performance, reliability, and scalability.

    • Manage platform upgrades, patches, and deployments.

    Testing & Troubleshooting

    • Conduct unit testing, debugging, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.

    • Troubleshoot and enhance existing ServiceNow implementations.

    • Analyze user requirements and develop technical solutions to meet business needs.

    Collaboration & Agile Delivery

    • Work closely with developers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders.

    • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.

    • Provide technical recommendations and guidance across business lines.


    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience (One of the Following)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field + 4 years of professional experience

    • Associate degree + 6 years of professional experience

    • High School Diploma/GED + 8 years of professional experience

    Technical Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

    • Strong experience in one or more of the following: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, HRSD, CMDB, CSDM.

    • Experience with JavaScript, Glide API, HTML, CSS.

    • Experience developing REST/SOAP integrations.

    • Familiarity with ServiceNow data structures, ACLs, business rules, and update sets.

    • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments (storage, backups, operating systems).


    Preferred Certifications

    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

    • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

    • Implementation Specialist Certifications (ITSM, ITOM, SAM, HRSD, etc.)
